Assigning Alley
As the assignor for NY North, I am responsible for managing the judging assigning process for the 2024-25 gymnastics season. I work closely with meet directors and judges to ensure that all information and schedules are entered accurately into GymJAS. In addition to entering schedules, I handle the assignment and contracting of judges based on meet director requests. Meet referees will be assigned at least 30 days before each competition to serve as the primary contact between meet directors and assigned judges.

NAWGJ CANONS & RULES
NAWGJ Canons are a set of guidelines that define the professional behavior expected of gymnastics judges. They emphasize respect for gymnasts, coaches, other judges, and everyone involved in a meet, and stress the importance of impartiality, preparation, and confidentiality. These 17 rules, primarily based on common sense, help ensure that judges maintain professionalism and ethical standards in all aspects of their role.

To ensure that assignments and contracts are made in accordance with USAG rules and policies, we have developed a "Best Assigning Practices" document. This document provides the recommended guidelines for our NAWGJ-NYN members to follow.
